West Ham produced a dominant performance at London Stadium as Wrexham suffered their biggest loss since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed their takeover.
West Ham United delivered a commanding 6-0 victory over Wrexham on Friday, handing the Welsh club its heaviest defeat since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney became owners in 2021. The result also strengthened West Ham’s push for an immediate return to the Premier League.

The match attracted 59,712 spectators at London Stadium, making it the largest recorded crowd for a game involving Wrexham. The previous figure was 54,096, recorded when Wrexham played Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup in January 1970.
Wrexham’s rise since the change of ownership has included three successive promotions and a place in the Championship for the first time last season. However, the club narrowly missed the promotion play-offs last term and has now made a difficult start to its latest campaign.
For West Ham, the emphatic victory moved the club to the top of the Championship before the remaining weekend fixtures. Wrexham, meanwhile, must respond quickly as the early-season results leave them closer to the relegation places than the promotion contenders.
